A Letter From The Chair
Page Title
As the 2008 Chairman of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, I am pleased and honored to take an active role in the Bowling Green community. This is a great place to live, work and raise a family.
What we offer is quality in every aspect of our community — from being surrounded by award-winning parks, arts and entertainment to first-rate medical and law enforcement facilities. We continue to see the successes of our economic development efforts through the growth of our established businesses, and we're constantly welcoming a new business with a ribbon cutting or groundbreaking. The diversity of our business environment makes this city a great place to find a job and turn that into a career. Finally, our school systems are some of the finest in the state. From pre-K programs on up to postgraduate curricula at Western Kentucky University, we offer everyone the chance to receive a quality education. Some cities that grow as quickly as Bowling Green sacrifice a certain quality of life. Bowling Green is not one of those cities.
We in Warren County have partnered with our surrounding counties to create a unified message for South Central Kentucky: "Central for Business. Southern for Living." This is not simply a slogan to catch a visitor's eye as he or she passes through the region; this is a message about the quality of life in South Central Kentucky. Bowling Green is a prime location for busines: on a major interstate, a little more than an hour away from an international airport, and within 100 miles of the population center to the east of the Rocky Mountains. We're also rich in Southern hospitality, as you'll recognize if you just walk into any local establishment and hear the welcoming, "How are you today?"
Whether you are just visiting or researching your relocation options, I hope you'll find Bowling Green to be as great of a place as I know it to be. And don't forget to stop by our brand new Chamber building on 710 College Street or visit us on the web to learn more about what the community and the Chamber have to offer.
Sincerely,
Doug Gorman
