Each semester and/or summer we have several opportunities for internships each semester and/or summer period, including internships in the following fields:

Communications Intern

  • Document updates to in-house publications
  • Research other Chambers’ marketing materials
  • Proofread publications and Web sites
  • Assist with Chamber Connection and ED Messenger publications
  • Maintain working list of Chamber accomplishments
  • Prepare re-accreditation materials
  • Serve as backup receptionist at front desk
  • Other duties as assigned

Economic Development Intern

  • Site Selection Network projects
  • Assist Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
  • Sales Logix database importing and maintenance
  • ACCRA Cost of Living survey – January, May, and September
  • Maintain www.southcentralky.com building database
  • Research and prepare responses to TVA RFIs and Site Selector RFPs
  • Client visit planning, communications, presentations, and site tours
  • Research, calculation, preparation of reports on available and applicable incentives for prospects and clients
  • Communicate with South Central Kentucky Regional Partner Counties and Cities
  • Other duties as assigned

General Intern

  • Run errands
  • General office duties: answering phones and assisting visitors
  • Miscellaneous tasks assigned by your supervisor
  • Assist in planning meetings, events, and projects
  • Work on various chamber publications and web applications
  • Prepare correspondence and mailings
  • Help set up rooms for meetings and events
  • Organize and straighten the office during down time
  • Report to the your supervisor when you are done with a task
  • Special duties may be assigned at any time without notice

Partnership Intern

  • Writing Small Business Spotlight for Chamber Connection newsletter
  • Proofing partnership marketing materials
  • Assist in event coordination
  • Provide one-on-one marketing for the Chamber through personal phone calls and written letters/thank-you notes
  • Prepare for and coordinate Partnership Appreciation Day
  • Assist in maintaining partnership database
  • Compile data for retention meetings

  • Assist the Program Director in planning and preparing for Chamber events
  • Manage the Chamber Ambassadors Club
  • Provide administrative support to Chamber committees
  • Run errands
